Editorial policy
Eastern World Briefing aims to explain its subjects accurately and with care. We distinguish interpretation from established information, avoid presenting broad regions as culturally uniform and revisit wording when a reader points to a problem.
Accuracy and context
We check names, dates, terms and claims against suitable published references before publication. Articles should make clear which time, place or community they discuss, and avoid treating a complex history as a single continuous tradition. When evidence or interpretation is uncertain, the wording should say so rather than imply certainty.
Independence
Editorial choices belong to the publication. A commercial relationship does not guarantee coverage, a favourable view or a particular conclusion. We do not present promotional claims as independent editorial judgment.
Corrections
If you spot an error, contact us with the article and the detail in question. We review correction requests and amend confirmed errors; where a change affects the meaning of a published piece, we aim to make that correction clear to readers.
Partnerships and illustrations
Paid, gifted or partner-supported material is labelled so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; when an image is AI-generated, it is identified as such. Illustrations are not evidence for historical claims.
